A recent study is showing that Spanish is the happiest language spoken worldwide. Apparently, scientists have said that it promotes joy and social cohesion.
There is one thing in particular that every English language student will tell you is important: motivation. And they are right! Without motivation, it isn’t possible to learn something new. However motivation on its own isn’t enough. We also need determination.
A study was performed on a group of 15 month old Australian babies. In the study, they learned to associate the fake word “deet”, to a picture. They were told the word both in Australian English and Canadian English. The word was then replaced by a different word, like “dit” or “doot”, to see if the children would notice the difference. The study showed that the babies understood much better when the word was pronounced in a Canadian accent.
